 The Adventure Tourism and Outdoor Recreation programs, activities, and events at Southwest Virginia Community College are a unique blend of entrepreneurship, tourism, and recreation.

Whether you are interested in starting your own adventure tourism business, working for an outdoor based business, becoming a guide or outfitter, working in a local, state, or national park, gaining knowledge to keep yourself safe, or just having fun, we have the program, activity, or event for you.

Outdoor Academy

bikingThe academy will focus on offering courses for college credit and/or nationally recognized certification or instructor credentials. The academy is offered in a partnership between Southwest Virginia Community College and Breaks Interstate Park. Depending on the selected course offerings, costs could include tuition, materials, meals and facility fees. The cost of each course may vary.
