Scholarship Application


The Scholarship Application period for the 2015-16 academic year has closed for graduating high school seniors and returning SWCC students.
Only students new to SWCC who graduated from high school prior to the 2014-15 academic year may apply at this time.

  • Empl ID required. You will receive your Empl ID upon successfully submitting the Admission Application at
  • Note: You may submit this scholarship application but no award can be made until you have completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Go to or contact the Financial Aid office for assistance.
  • What is your major or in what major do you plan to enroll? Select only one from the list below - use search box if needed.
    • Associates of Arts and Sciences (AA&S), Associates of Applied Science (AAS), and Diploma are typically 2 years in length.
    • Certificates are typically 1 year in length
    • Career Studies Certificates (CSC) are typically 1 semester in length.
  • If you cannot find your major by searching the academic program list above, please select the "Major Not Listed" option there and enter the name here.
  • Please list any SERVICE activities that you participated in during the last 4 years: donated blood, volunteered at a soup kitchen, etc. Click the plus sign for additional entry rows.

  • After graduation, how do you plan to use your degree to give back to the community?
  • Describe the employment situation in your family (who worked, how many months, etc) in the past four years.
  • How many people are you the caretaker for, including yourself, spouse, children, parents, etc. Please explain.

  • By submitting this application, I authorize Southwest Virginia Community College to release grades and financial information to the SWCC Scholarship Committee and authorize the Foundation Office to share application and award information with the Financial Aid Office and scholarship donors.
