Flatwoods Job Corps

Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training.

Manufacturing Technology Center

The Manufacturing Technology Center (MTC) is a not-for-profit organization partially funded by federal and state resources. Our primary mission is to assist the industries of southwest Virginia to become more competitive. All MTC Project Managers have an average of over 20 years of hands-on experience in a wide range of industries. All are certified Lean Manufacturing facilitators through the National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST-MET)

Southwest Regional Adult Education-GED

The Southwest Regional Adult Education Program offers free basic skills instruction to adult students, 18 and older, living in the counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell, and Tazewell in Virginia.

Southwest Virginia Workforce Investment Board

Each WIB provides oversight for the Workforce Investment Act programs, acts as a catalyst to provide seamless services among various workforce programs, and provides community leadership around workforce issues.

The VEC provides employers and job seekers, with unemployment benefits, and labor market information. Our mission is to promote economic growth and stability by delivering and coordinating workforce services. The E in VEC is Employment.
