Cybersecurity Summer Classes Online

Cybersecurity Summer Classes – Online Career Studies Certificate

SWCC is offering the Career Studies Certificate (CSC) in Cybersecurity through online summer classes beginning June 2, 2017.

Given the issues presented by the current increase in on and off line criminal activities, almost everyone would benefit from this program. The plan is to provide each student a career path of learning that will give them the skills and knowledge necessary to maintain security on-the-job and/or at home. Program participants are expected to become more conscientious computer users, as well as have the ability to recognize, prevent, and defend themselves, their organizations, and families against potential cybersecurity threats.

The Cybersecurity Career Studies Certificate Cohort is a 29-credit hour program that may be taken alone or in addition to other majors. Students will be able to complete all courses via Blackboard, the SWCC online Learning Management System (LMS)

The Cybersecurity grant provides the following CompTIA Certification Exam Vouchers to those who qualify: IT Fundamentals; A+ Hardware; A+ Operating Systems; Network +, and Security+. These vouchers may be used to cover the proctored certification exams offered at a Pearson VUE Authorized Testing Center. In addition, students will have the opportunity to earn a Microsoft® Digital Literacy Certificate. Other study materials such as textbooks, online labs, and practice exams may also be provided.
