Today, Jimmy W. Welch, Executive Director of the foundation, presented a scholarship check to Susan Lowe, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Southwest Virginia Community College, and Stacey McGhee, Alumni &amp; Prospect Research Coordinator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To date, more than 75 Southwest Virginia Community College students have benefitted from the Credit Bureau of the Virginias Foundation Scholarship program, which grants six $1000 scholarships annually to students from the southwest Virginia\/southern West Virginia counties bordering the Bluefield area. Students may receive the scholarship as long as they are successfully enrolled in a program at Southwest pursuing a diploma, usually for two years.
