In all, 68 of those institutions achieved \u201cGreat College to Work For\u201d recognition for specific best practices and policies. Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with Southwest Virginia Community College included among small sized colleges with 500 to 2,999 students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Southwest Virginia Community College won honors in three categories this year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Job Satisfaction &amp; Support;<\/li><li>Compensation &amp; Benefits;<\/li><li>Supervisor\/Department Chair Effectiveness<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt Southwest, our vision to<a> <\/a>transform lives, strengthen communities and inspire excellence applies to our talented and hard-working employees as much as it does to the students and communities that we serve. Everyone at Southwest Virginia Community College helps to make this a great place to work,\u201d said Southwest\u2019s President Dr. Tommy Wright.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire that captured employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Great Colleges to Work For\u00ae program is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country.
