Six Southwest Virginia Community College students will participate in Radford University\u2019s “Dancing on the Edge” festival. They will perform a new work by Southwest dance instructor Olivia Ratliff titled “Fairview Cemetery,” which explores the rich narratives of Appalachian burial customs and folklore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The performances are scheduled for April 18th and 19th at 7:30 PM and April 20th at 2:00 PM at the Bondurant Auditorium in Preston Hall at Radford University. “Dancing on the Edge” the talents of Radford University’s dance program and inviting guest performers to share the stage, creating a vibrant community of artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to their performances at Radford University, the students will participate in “Movement Explored,” scheduled for May 25th at the McGlothlin Center for the Arts at Emory and Henry College and May 26th at the Russell Theatre in Lebanon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students’ participation enriches their educational journey and contributes to the cultural arts of the Appalachian region. The community is encouraged to support these emerging artists by attending their performances and celebrating the creative spirit they bring to the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
