Danny Coulthard from the Credit Bureau of the Virginias Foundation, Inc. presented a scholarship check to Dr. Susan Lowe, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Southwest Virginia Community College, on Aug. 2, 2024.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annually, four to six $1,000 scholarships are awarded to residents of Tazewell, Bland, and Giles counties in Virginia and Mercer, McDowell, Wyoming, Summers, and Greenbrier counties in West Virginia. The Credit Bureau of the Virginias previously served these counties, and its foundation’s mission is to enhance the quality of life in these areas. Since 2003, the Credit Bureau of the Virginias Foundation, Inc., has provided more than 100 scholarships to students at Southwest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students enrolled in a two-year degree program at Southwest Virginia Community College may receive the scholarship. The scholarship aims to serve average students with a grade point average of at least 2.0, and they must maintain that average to continue receiving the scholarship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
