Buchanan County Administration has alerted Southwest that they will be changing the parameters of their free tuition program, effective for the Summer 2020 term, which begins Monday, June 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They will be funding 2 years of tuition for recent high school graduates only. Funding will not be available for students who graduated earlier than 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Funding will also cease that covers the students\u2019 portion of dual-enrollment tuition, along with any non-dual enrollment college classes for those students who are still in high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Buchanan County Board of Supervisors votes on their final budget on June 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At this point, it affects 48 students distributed among summer and fall who had completed all of the documentation. Those students have been contacted by email and personal phone calls to explore other funding that may be available to them in addition to electronic payment plans and 60-Day loans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
