Jimmy W. Welch, executive director of the Credit Bureau of the Virginias Foundation, Inc., presents Susan Lowe, VP of Institutional Advancement at Southwest Virginia Community College, with a check for scholarship assistance. The Credit Bureau of the Virginias Foundation Scholarship program grants six $1000 scholarships annually to students from the southwest Virginia\/southern West Virginia counties bordering the Bluefield area. Students may receive the scholarship as long as they are successfully enrolled in a program at Southwest pursuing a diploma, usually for two years. Students targeted to receive these scholarships should have a grade point average of 2.0 to 3.0 and maintain that average to continue receiving the scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
