Students attending SWCC who elect to pursue the Pharm.D. degree program at East Tennessee State University Bill Gattion College of Pharmacy<\/a> may take all courses required through Southwest’s Science Pre-Medical degree. Following the below requirements will allow for a smooth transition from SWCC to ETSU Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minimum transfer requirements are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Complete online Southwest Admission Application<\/a> and make sure all required information, including transcripts from other institutions are provided to SWCC Admissions Office;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Declare a major in Science:<\/strong> Specialization Pre-Medical<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Meet with Bill Taylor to find out course substitutions that will allow students to obtain an Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree. Email: bill.taylor@sw.edu<\/a>, Telephone: 276-964-7309<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Receiving this degree and maintaining a high overall GPA and science GPA will enhance chance for admission to to ETSU College of Pharmacy<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. No PCAT\u00ae required<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Application to ETSU College of Pharmacy is through the online Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS, at http:\/\/www.pharmcas.org<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Submission of supplemental application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Obtain two strong letters of recommendation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Successful completion of an on-campus admissions interview.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    Requirements to receive the Associate of Arts and Science Degree Major Science: Specialization in Pre-Medical:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Math; the student who needs MTH 161 will need 9 hours math, which includes one semester of calculus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Social Science electives: ECO, PSY, SOC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Humanities electives: ENG, Art Appreciation, Music Appreciation, Foreign Language, REL, PHI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
