We know the rolling hills and backroads. We know the hardworking and friendly people. We know it is pronounced BUCK-an-an County. We know Southwest Virginia.
The staff at the Small Business Development Center at Southwest Virginia Community College are passionate about life in Southwest Virginia and its small businesses. From family farms passed down generations to new businesses bringing life into our downtowns, from established businesses growing with new locations or online to the potential small business owner with just an idea and determination, we are here to help.
We work with clients to figure out their business goals and which techniques, resources and services are best for their situation. We can assist with developing a business plan, financial forecasts, establishing a marketing plan, assessing business technology, and much more. We also know community development programs, financial institutions, and community networks to assist businesses in sustainability and growth. We give advice, teach skills, and brainstorm with our clients to create practical results to help move their businesses forward.
At the SBDC at SWCC, we are a team of advisors with experience in many different areas of business development. With our various backgrounds, we are able to not only provide general business counseling and support, but we can also provide expertise in the areas of small business finance, organization, marketing, advertising, human resources, funding and more.
The SBDC at SWCC is one of 26 centers that make up the Virginia SBDC network. The impact of the services provided can be seen on a state and local level.
