Retail and Restaurants (STAMP)
Independent retailers and restaurants are the heart and soul of small towns and main streets across Virginia. Successful retailers build vibrant downtown destinations, but they face unique challenges ranging from inventory control, advertising, merchandising and staffing, to big box competition. To help these vital small businesses, we have developed STAMP: a comprehensive collection of webinars, workshops, virtual one-on-one sessions, hands-on initiatives, and resources designed to address the specific needs of main street retail and restaurant businesses.
Cybersecurity
Whether you are a retailer or restaurant who is responsible for customer data or a business moving online for the first time the SBDC provides support for small companies to keep your business secure by offering one-on-one counseling, assessments, and webinars to learn how to protect your businesses from cyber threats.
Craft Beverages Assistance Program
CBA services are designed to promote sustainable growth and resilience among Virginia-based producers, from start-ups to established and expanding companies.
Veterans
As a result of the Federal mandate of the Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act of 1999, Public Law 106-50 – plus a deep sense of indebtedness to all veterans – Virginia SBDC includes Virginia veterans as a target group for special support in providing technical business assistance to small businesses throughout Virginia.
Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program (ICAP)
The Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program (ICAP) is focused on helping Virginia-based technology and innovation-driven startups on their path to success. ICAP works with startups to provide support along their entire journey towards scaling – from the early idea stage, all the way through working on Series A level of funding. This is accomplished through experiential learning programs and one-on-one advising with a team of experienced entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs. These services are offered at no cost and all advising is confidential.
International Business Development Program (IBD)

Our Certified Global Business Professionals provide confidential counseling, training, and customized research to help companies mitigate risks, prioritize markets, identify financing, and grow export sales.
