vcu cls students

Congratulations to our graduates recently accepted into the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS), located at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center (SVHEC) in Abingdon, through a guaranteed admission agreement between VCU and SWCC.

Students accepted to the program, l-r, are Natasha Strouth (Honaker, VA), Sarah Santolla (Abingdon, VA) and Santana Stiltner (Vansant, VA),.  The Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences at VCU has partnered with the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center to successfully deliver its entire didactic B.S. in CLS curriculum to qualified residents of Southwest Virginia using state-of-the-art telecommunications technology. These technologies include two-way synchronous video-conferencing, satellite downlinks, and web-based lessons.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics employment in this field of health care is projected to grow 22 percent through 2022 which is much faster than average.  For more information on the SWCC science pre-med programs (Great education, Low cost!), contact Georgia Householder via email georgia.householder@sw.edu and visit https://sw.edu/science-math-dept/
