SWCC President Wright

Dr. Tommy Wright

SWCC welcomes Dr. Tommy Wright.

“I am excited and honored to be selected to lead SWCC into a new era,” said Wright.  “I am using the first couple of weeks to get to know as many people as possible, both on-campus and off. People are at the core of the success of any organization. I am currently working with a team to ensure the smooth transition of leadership.”

“We (SWCC) feel very fortunate to have a leader of Dr. Wright’s caliber join our leadership team,” said Dr. Ron Proffitt, Interim vice president of Academic and Student Services. "Our faculty and staff are excited to have the opportunity to work with him in this, a new chapter, in the history of SWCC.”

Members of the community-at-large are encouraged to come in to speak with the college’s new president. Those interested in making an appointment to speak with Wright can contact Rhonda Vandyke, assistant to the president, 276.964.7388.  More about Dr. Wright
