Acknowledgement of Reciprocity Statement: Pursuant to United States Department of Education (US DOE) regulation 34 CFR 668.43 (a) (5) (v), the Southwest Virginia Community College Associate Degree in Radiography program provides the following information for all prospective and current students:
    • Upon completion of the Radiography program, graduates will be required to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist national board examination to be eligible for employment in a hospital-based imaging department.
    • State license requirements for employment outside a hospital setting vary from state to state.
    • Licensure requirements can be obtained from the state’s board of health. If a student plans to live or move outside Virginia, a list of state educational requirements can be obtained by consulting the program director.
    • SWCC is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
    • LICENSURE RECIPROCITY
I request that my name be placed in consideration for admission to the Radiography program for the academic year.
    • I understand that I must submit an application/reapply for each year I wish to be considered.
    • I understand that I must complete (with a grade of “C” or better) all prerequisites and I must meet all admission requirements in order to be eligible for consideration.
    • I have read and understand the residency requirements as well as the Radiography Application Process information.
    • I understand that first priority for acceptance will be given to applicants who reside within the service region of SWCC, MECC or WCC. Secondary priority will be given to Virginia residents outside of those counties, and then out-of-state applicants
    • I also understand that if I do not have all required documents submitted with this application and have all requirements met by the deadlines specified, processing of my Radiography application will be suspended.
I am aware that some clinical sites are requiring Covid vaccination.
