Dual Success: Students Earn High School and Southwest Degrees

A record setting number of dual-enrollment students at Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) are being awarded the Governor’s Medallion for earning an associate degree while still in high school.

The Dual Enrollment programs offered at Southwest allow eligible high-school students to enroll in college coursework while still in high school. Courses are taught by full or part-time faculty who meet the Virginia Community College System’s credentialing requirements.

The following students are candidates for graduation at Southwest and will be allowed to wear the Governor’s Medallion at the college’s commencement on Friday, May 10, 2024 and at their local high school graduation as well.
