As we honor and celebrate the rich heritage and innumerable contributions of the African American community during Black History Month, we are excited to announce a special event that promises to be both enlightening and inspiring.
We would like to invite you to join us on February 15th at 12:00 PM in Dellinger Hall for a keynote address by Ms. Ashley Offutt, the esteemed Director of the Student Opportunities and Achievement Resources (SOAR) Program at Virginia Tech.
Ms. Offutt’s dedication to fostering equity and inclusion within the academic community is commendable. In her pivotal role at SOAR, she coordinates and provides support for marginalized, underrepresented, and underserved student populations. Her efforts have significantly enhanced the university’s partnerships with key departments, including Enrollment Management, Financial Aid, Undergraduate Academic Affairs, and Student Affairs.
This event offers a unique opportunity to hear from a leader actively shaping the future of higher education by ensuring equal opportunities for all students. Ms. Offutt’s insights will inspire and challenge us to contribute to a more equitable and inclusive society.
Please mark your calendars and join us in celebrating Black History Month with Ms. Offutt’s address. Your presence will undoubtedly add to the richness of the conversation.
We look forward to seeing you there!
