This certificate consists of prerequisite courses associated with the nursing, radiography, occupational therapy, and sonography programs. This allows students to complete the required basic classes before entering a specialized program.

The Health Sciences certificate program is designed for those individuals interested in pursuing a career in the health professions. The program will enable students interested in healthcare professions to acquire an academic foundation to continue their education in a health program.
The program can also be used as a stepping-stone to the Associate of Science degree. Students should consult an academic advisor for any course substitutions to this curriculum.
Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Radiography programs at Southwest have similar general education course requirements. This program allows students to complete these courses before entering a specific program. It may also give undecided students some direction while they complete these courses.
