The Career Studies Certificate Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Fundamentals training program exists to address non-conventional short-term training needs for many adults in our service region seeking to pursue a rewarding career.
The Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Fundamentals training program consists of a credit-based, fast-track, short-term curriculum to prepare students for entry-level automotive diagnostic and repair technician positions.
Students have an opportunity to earn NC3, Snap-On®, and Automotive Service Excellence (ASE®) Entry-Level credentials, in addition to the Career Studies Certificate in Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Fundamentals.
The Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Fundamentals training program consists of a credit-based, fast-track, short-term curriculum to prepare students for entry-level automotive diagnostic and repair technician positions. The program will teach students the basic operations of an electric vehicle, the associated risks and hazards, safety practices, proper use of personal protective equipment, isolation of voltage from high-voltage systems, and practice assembling EV Kits.
Students need prior experience with auto repair before enrolling.
Southwest Virginia Community College has options to help you pay for a degree or certificate. A high percentage of students receive assistance through financial aid.
