Felicia Nicole Street, daughter of Jeff and Peggy Street, has been awarded two Governor’s Medallions. On May 1, 2013, Governor McDonnell announced an initiative that acknowledges each student graduating with the general education certificate or an associate’s degree concurrent with high school graduation with a Governor’s Medallion. Felicia was awarded a medallion for completing a general education certificate and another for completing an associate degree in General Studies. Miss Street is only the second SWCC dual enrollment student awarded the Governor’s Medallion since 2013.

Felicia attends Twin Valley High School. “My future plans are to attend Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate Tennessee to obtain my Doctorate in Veterinarian medicine for large and small animals,” said Ms. Street. “After that, I plan to have my own farm and have my own Veterinarian practice. The dual enrollment program at Southwest is truly such a great opportunity for students in the area for all high schools to take advantage of! After all, it is what has gotten me here! I am truly blessed to have such an amazing opportunity and community to be a part of!”

In addition to being awarded two Governor’s Medallions, Felicia was also selected to represent SWCC on the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society 2019 All-Virginia Academic Team. This honor is presented by the Virginia Community College System, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
