Appalachian Arts Center, a part of Southwest Virginia Community College, is pleased to announce the prize winners for its Annual Quilt Exhibit. The quilts on display were all variations of the Log Cabin quilt block, one of the most recognizable and beloved patterns.

The Best in Show prize of $150 (sponsored by Mary Lawson) was won by Penny Hagerman. The People’s Choice prize of $100 (sponsored by Friends of Jane Adair) was won by Dellis Justice. The Novice prize of $50 (sponsored by Cecelia Hymes) was awarded to Ida Wheeler.

Appalachian Arts Center would like to thank all those who sponsored prizes, as well as the exhibition and reception sponsor, Clinch Mountain Veterinary Services, for their generosity. Thanks also this year’s judge: Sharon Rhudy. Lastly, we would like to express our appreciation for all the talented quilters who submitted their beautiful, handcrafted quilts for the exhibit.
