October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Throughout the month of October, the Family Crisis Services (FCS) program of Clinch Valley Community Action, Inc. is accepting donations for their shelter.

FCS is a joint domestic violence and sexual assault program which provides direct sport and advocacy services to victims and their families in Tazewell County and Russell County. In addition to direct victim services, FCS offers an Education and Community Outreach Program.

You can help by donating items to the shelter.

Some basic items they could use include hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste hair brushes, pajamas (men’s and women’s) towels, wash cloths, toilet paper, feminine products, and deodorant (men’s and women’s).

Totes have been placed in the following locations:

  • Davis Hall (2nd floor)
  • Buchanan Hall (Cafeteria)
  • Russell Hall (1st floor across from student seating area)
  • Tazewell Hall (1st floor next to Office of Recruitment & Student Engagement)
  • Dellinger Hall (Inside the Distance Learning & Testing Center)
