Students currently enrolled in Southwest Virginia Community College’s Automotive Technology program leading to the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Entry-Level Certifications are currently completing hands-on training and certification testing in preparation for entry-level automotive diagnostic and repair technician jobs.
The first cohort of students will complete the program in August, 2020.
SOUTHWEST is currently offering a 29 credit-hour Career Studies Certificate program in Automotive Diagnostics and Repair in conjunction with the Snap-On Education Program which is integrated with the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3).
No program offering Snap-On’s Education Program, nor integrated certification through the NC3, or the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Entry Level Certification, exists within an hour’s drive of our campus.
Recent job vacancies on Indeed.com listed openings in Bluefield, VA and Bristol, VA at between $15-35/hr. and in Kingsport at up to $42.60/hr. for ASE certified mechanics.
The second cohort (day) will start on August 24 and the third cohort (evenings) will start on August 24, as well.
