BLUEFIELD, VA — Jimmy W. Welch and Danny Coulthard of the Credit Bureau of the Virginias Foundation, Inc. visited the new Southwest Virginia Community College Bluefield Center to present Susan Lowe, VP of Institutional Advancement at Southwest Virginia Community College, with a check for scholarship assistance. The Credit Bureau of the Virginias Foundation Scholarship program grants six $1000 scholarships annually to students from the southwest Virginia/southern West Virginia counties bordering the Bluefield area. Students may receive the scholarship as long as they are successfully enrolled in a program at Southwest pursuing a diploma, usually for two years. Students targeted to receive these scholarships should have a grade point average of 2.0 to 3.0 and maintain that average to continue receiving the scholarship.
