Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) hosted its inaugural Transfer Day celebration on Thursday May 4, 2023. Although not all transfer students were in attendance, several students and representatives from area colleges and universities took photographs and greeted new students, welcoming them to their new schools.
The event is designed to celebrate the accomplishments of students who have completed their studies at SWCC and will be transferring to four-year universities or enter straight into select doctorate programs.
SWCC serves as a crucial steppingstone for students who want to pursue their bachelor’s degree or enter into doctor of pharmacy programs. SWCC has transfer agreements with several colleges, allowing students to complete their credits and transition to complete a higher-level degree in their desired field of study.
As an accredited community college, SWCC meets the same academic standards as most four-year schools while charging less than most four-year schools. This affordability, along with the convenience of being close to home, makes SWCC an attractive option for many students.
