Nearly 300 Scholarships Available

The Southwest Virginia Community College Educational Foundation is accepting scholarship award applications for the upcoming 2024-25 academic year. Approximately 300 scholarships are available, reflecting the Foundation’s ongoing effort to help students achieve their educational goals. Applications open once a year and must be submitted by March 31, 2024.

By providing a wide range of scholarships, the Foundation aims to make college education more accessible for students in the community.

“Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we can provide these scholarships, which are a crucial investment in the potential of our students. This act of kindness supports the individual growth of our students and plays a significant role in shaping the future of our community,” said Susan Lowe, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC).

To qualify for these scholarships, students must first secure admission to SWCC. The admission process can be completed online free of charge. Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is also required.

The process of applying for these scholarships has been streamlined into a single online platform. This centralization enables students to submit one application for multiple scholarships, simplifying the application process.

Communication is key in the application process for students to stay informed on their application status. The SWCC Educational Foundation advises students to regularly check their SWCC email and Award Spring account for any updates or follow-up information regarding their scholarship application.
