The ASE Education Foundation has accredited Southwest Virginia Community College’s (SWCC) automotive diagnostic repair program in maintenance and light repair.
The ASE Education Foundation’s accreditation process is a rigorous evaluation, assessing programs against nationally accepted standards of excellence in instruction, facilities, and equipment. SWCC’s automotive training program met and surpassed these stringent criteria, demonstrating its dedication to providing top-tier educational opportunities.
“This accreditation is a milestone for SWCC and reflects our commitment to providing the highest-quality education to our students,” said James Dye, Dean of Business, Engineering, and Industrial Technology at SWCC. “We are preparing automotive technicians with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this rapidly evolving field.”
“This is great news for automotive-minded young people and their parents,” said Michael Coley, ASE Education Foundation President. “Because this program increases cooperation between local education and industry leaders, it gives added assurance that SWCC graduates will be employable entry-level technicians. As a result of the quality education provided by Southwest, the motoring public will benefit since better repair technicians will join the workforce.”
With this accreditation, SWCC stands among institutions recognized by the ASE Education Foundation, a non-profit, independent organization dedicated to improving the quality of automotive technician training programs.
