Message from the President
SWCC’s vision is to transform lives, strengthen communities and inspire excellence. As only the 3rd president to serve in SWCC’s 50-year history, I am truly honored and excited to lead SWCC as we continue fulfilling this vision in the future.
At SWCC, student success is our primary mission. Our program paths are designed to set you on the right course to your career goal, whether that goal includes a transfer path or short-term job training. Our Workforce Solutions Department offers state of the art training to prepare you, or your employees, to achieve nationally recognized credentials.
Browse our programs and connect with us online, or come to campus and talk with us. SWCC recognizes the potential in every person and you will find that our faculty & staff are warm, welcoming and experienced in helping our students succeed.
SWCC hosts and supports a variety of cultural and academic programs throughout the year. These programs and events provide our students and community an opportunity to engage with a diverse and vibrant world of ideas, music, art and drama, as well as foster an appreciation of the rich cultural heritage of our region.
As Tracey and I begin to make Southwest Virginia our home, we look forward to meeting and getting to know our neighbors, business and community partners. My door is always open, and I welcome your input, ideas and concerns, as we work together to strengthen and enrich the lives of our students, and our communities, through education and development.
