Canvas Course Assistance

When you login to MYSouthwest at https://sw.my.vccs.edu you will automatically be logged into Canvas: select the Canvas icon to locate your classes and begin using the system.

Find my MYSouthwest account login information

Go to the MYSouthwest user information lookup page and enter the requested information. The result should provide a user id.

How do I reset my password?

Go to the Password Reset link on the MYSouthwest landing page and enter the requested information.

If you need your password reset, please phone one of the contacts listed below between 7:45 am and 4:30 pm EST Monday through Friday.  Please check the homepage under Academic Calendar for holidays and summer hours.

What if there aren’t any courses under the “My Courses” tab?

It typically takes 3-4 days from the day you register until your course appears under the “My Courses” Tab .
If it has been more than 3-4 days and the course still doesn’t appear, contact your instructor.

What do I do if I get an error message while using Canvas?

This does happen occasionally, so do not panic. The Canvas servers are located in Richmond and they do go down or get overly busy during peak times of the semester. If you continue to have errors and cannot log in, please visit the MYSouthwest Helpdesk.
