Occupational Therapy Assistant

Southwest Virginia Community College offers an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant degree, so you’ll receive training that meets the highest professional and academic standards.

You’ll also get plenty of one-on-one attention and personalized support from your instructors. If you encounter challenges in or out of the classroom, we’ll be there.

Students perform hands-on training in the OTA lab.


Our associate degree program for Occupational Therapy Assistants allows you to:

In addition to the college application, a separate Occupational Therapy Assistant program application with supporting documentation is required.

Occupational therapy assistants earn good incomes and work in a wide variety of settings. The U.S. Labor Department estimates that job openings for occupational therapy assistants will rise by nearly 40 percent over the next decade.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants can find employment in a wide variety of settings, including:

By earning an accredited OT assistant degree, you can compete for the very best jobs. Our OT Assistant associate’s degree holds accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE), a division of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Cost of the OTA Program based on the current published tuition rate of $156.75 per credit hour with fees for Virginia residents:
